kommonly exists so families can support each other safely. These guidelines explain expected behavior, how to protect children, and what happens when something goes wrong.
1. Our shared goal
Treat others with respect. Assume good intent, disagree kindly, and remember that families join kommonly to find community — not conflict.
Parents and guardians are responsible for their account and for how their household uses the platform.
2. Protecting children
Children do not have separate logins. Only adults should communicate through messages and connection features.
Do not post information that could identify a child to strangers, including full names, schools, schedules, contact details, or photos where a child is clearly identifiable.
Use nicknames and grade bands in child profiles as designed. If you see identifying information about a child posted by someone else, report it immediately.
3. Privacy and location
Respect other families’ privacy settings. Do not attempt to discover or share exact home addresses, even if you know them offline.
When organizing meetups, share meeting details only with families you trust, and prefer public or group settings for first meetings.
4. Connections and messages
Send connection requests only to families you have a genuine reason to know or meet. Do not use bulk or automated outreach.
Decline or block connections that make you uncomfortable. You do not owe anyone a response.
Keep messages appropriate and on-topic. Do not send unsolicited commercial messages, romantic advances toward minors, or explicit content.
5. Local board and communities
Board posts are visible to families in your approximate area. Keep posts relevant to local family and community life.
Community and event organizers may set additional expectations; follow them when you participate.
Do not post hate speech, bullying, medical misinformation presented as professional advice, or content that endangers others.
6. Reporting, blocking, and moderation
Use the report button on profiles, posts, or messages when something violates these guidelines or seems unsafe.
Blocking prevents further contact from that family. Reports are reviewed by moderators; not every report results in public action, but all serious safety issues are prioritized.
Moderators may warn users, remove content, suspend accounts, or involve law enforcement when required.
7. In-person meetups
kommonly does not vet families offline. Use the same caution you would when meeting any new community member: meet in public places, bring a friend when possible, and trust your instincts.
We are not responsible for conduct at events or meetups organized through the platform.
8. Consequences
Violations may result in content removal, loss of access to features, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination.
Severe violations — especially those involving harm to minors, threats, or illegal activity — may be reported to authorities and may not receive a prior warning.
If you are unsure whether something is allowed, err on the side of caution and contact privacy@kommonly.com.
